It is the responsibility of the surgeon to ensure that appropriate decisions are taken with due consideration to the patient's history and clinical condition. The IC will focus on the following aspects of cataract surgery : Managing Ocular surface conditions , planning toric and multifocal IOLs , regarding the mode of ocular anaesthesia and whether combined phacotrabeculectomy should for be advised for those with coexisting glaucoma and cataract .
