This course aims to instruct from the basics of writing a case report or an original article and yet aim higher. It also provides out of the box suggestions especially in the field of imaging where new topics or ideas can be obtained for manuscript writing because of actual images, artefacts created by the machines or the technicians or due to improper instructions to the patients. A paradigm shift in publishing is occurring because of the advent of natural language processing and artificial intelligence(AI). We also have to learn how to harness the advantages of AI for Ophthalmology and for publishing rather than be cowed down by ChatGPT or Bard. Further, every author who has ever submitted an article would be interested in the processes it is submitted to. Knowing this will enhance the quality of submissions and decrease the rejection rates.
