Abstract

Though trabeculectomy is the gold standard in glaucoma surgery it is usually limited to advanced and uncontrolled glaucomas with high learning curve. It’s use in mild to moderate cases is still limited because of its invasive nature and higher chances of complications. Micro-invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) is a safer alternative in mild to moderate glaucoma leaving the conjunctiva untouched for future filtration surgery. It also useful in patients who are non-compliant and those who cannot tolerate medications. It can be done as a stand-alone procedure or can be combined with cataract surgery. In this session, our primary focus is on initiating MIGS and understanding the nuances of various techniques such as BANG, KDB GLIDE, GATT, and I stent. This step-by-step course aims to instill confidence in phacosurgeons to independently perform these surgeries. Led by experts in the field, this intensive training emphasizes the finer details of each procedure.
