According to the World Health Organization (WHO), between 300 million and 400 million individuals are visually impaired worldwide, with approximately 50 million suffering from total blindness. Alarmingly, over 80% to 90% of global blindness cases are considered preventable through improved medical care and education. To reduce the avoidable blindness there are many screening and rehabilitation strategies. The course will elaborate on topics of Avoidable Blind Free Villages Strategy, Tele Ophthalmology, Myopia management in community and training young ophthalmologists.
