Abstract
Eyelids are the gateway to eyes. It has an intricate anatomy and plays a key role in protecting the eyes. In our daily practice, we encounter many common eyelid pathologies that may appear simple at a glance but are often tricky to manage. These include the lumps and bumps of lids such as hordeolum internum, hordeolum externum, warts, various cysts, xanthelasmas, and the less common malignant neoplasms. An eyelid twitch or abnormal movements could range from harmless myokymia to hemifacial spasms and Meige syndrome. Dark circles are again another common entity but a difficult-to-manage case. The common lid margin diseases include blepharitis, meibomitis, trichiasis, and distichiasis which if left untreated can even cause sight-threatening ocular surface issues. The same goes for ectropion and entropion. In this instruction course, a detailed approach and management of these common eyelid diseases are explained in detail by expert instructors.
