Abstract
Diplopia is seeing two images of the same object and can be due to ocular misalignment or an optical problem. Patients with ocular misalignment can have life threatening neurological conditions and should be evaluated in a systemic manner. However non neurological causes of diplopia are common and may not require in depth investigation or neuroimaging. Basic understanding of the non neurological causes is essential for an ophthalmologist to avoid confusion in diagnosis, unnecessary neuroimaging and undue worry to the patient. This instruction course is intended to help familiarize with non neurological causes of diplopia, how to evaluate and manage different causes through a case based approach.
