Abstract

The intricate relationship between the anterior segment and the retina is pivotal in comprehensive ophthalmic care. Comprehensive ophthalmologists and postgraduates must possess a fundamental understanding of retinal conditions to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This instruction course delves into essential retinal insights crucial for comprehensive ophthalmologists. We highlight the significance of recognising posterior segment manifestations while managing anterior segment diseases. Furthermore, we discuss the role of optical coherence tomography, in enhancing the surgical planning and postoperative monitoring of anterior segment surgeries. In conclusion, a solid grasp of retinal insights is indispensable for anterior segment surgeons to navigate the interplay between the front and back of the eye, ultimately leading to improved patient care and surgical outcomes.
