Abstract

A leading cause of vision loss globally,Diabetic retinopathy is the emerging ocular pandemic.Inspite of widespread and expansive coverage of the topic in most of the conferences, the awareness among the patients,General Ophthalmologists and physicians about the gravity of the problem remains bleak.Since early and timely diagnosis alters the progression and outcome of the conditions vigorous effort from our side is the need of the hour .Main aim of this I.C is to discuss about the screening protocols ,diagnostic and treatment modalities and recent advances in Diabetic Retinopathy to be known for budding Ophthalmologists as well as general ophthalmologists.Also to discuss the need for proper interpretation of OCT and FFA which can bring a considerable change in patient care with better outcome .
