Abstract

With the rapid evolution of technology, patients undergoing cataract surgery now harbor heightened expectations regarding the quality of their postoperative vision. This instructional course is designed to empower anterior segment surgeons in recognizing concurrent retinal diseases prior to cataract surgery, facilitating informed discussions about referrals to retina specialists, strategically planning the timing of cataract surgery in such cases, and providing valuable insights into intraocular lens. Moreover, it offers a unique perspective from retina specialists, shedding light on the management of retinal diseases in conjunction with cataract surgery. Through a comprehensive approach encompassing preoperative evaluation, collaborative decision-making, and postoperative care, this instructional course endeavors to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction, ultimately ensuring optimal visual results in the era of advancing technology.
