Abstract

Intra vitreal anti VEGF injections have revolutionized the treatment of various ocular vascular diseases that cause significant visual impairment. They have become the gold standard of treatment for these diseases. Being a very commonly used drug by retina specialists in the recent years, it is essential that we know all about it. Through this IC we intend to provide a comprehensive knowledge regarding intra vitreal anti VEGF injections, explaining their chemical composition and the right technique of injection. We also aim to give an insight into the newer anti VEGF injections available for use. With the influx of multiple biosimilars in the market there has been a drastic increase in the number of intra vitreal anti VEGF injections being used and hence it is important not just for the retina specialists , but also for a general ophthalmologist to be aware of this wonder drug.
