Abstract
Central serous chorioretinopathy is a retinal disorder characterized by localized serous detachment of the macula with or without isolated serous pigment epithelial detachment. It is caused by retinal pigment epithelial decompensation and/or choroidal vascular abnormality. Most of the cases resolve spontaneously and gain normal vision. Chronic and recurrent cases require treatment. If not treated properly, central serous retinopathy can lead to profound visual loss. Understanding the clinical profile and presentations helps us in planning the management strategies in the various presentations of this often difficult to treat pathology.
