Abstract
Cataract surgery is one of the most commonly performed and highly successful procedures in ophthalmology. However, in patients with pre-existing ocular comorbidities such as uveitis, corneal opacities, traumatic subluxation of lens, previous vitrectomy, crowded eyes, the surgical approach can be significantly more complex. These conditions pose unique challenges that demand tailored preoperative assessment, intraoperative modifications, and vigilant post operative care to optimize outcomes and minimize complications.
This instruction course aims to provide a comprehensive overview of cataract surgery in the presence of various ocular comorbidities. It will highlight practical strategies, surgical techniques, decision making algorithms that can help the surgeon navigate these complex scenarios.
