Manual Small Incision Cataract Surgery (MSICS) is taught in most centers in South India as a stepping stone before phacoemulsification. Most of the time, the experience that a postgraduate (PG) has in MSICS before transitioning to phaco is limited. Since MSICS is a valuable technique for managing the most challenging cataract cases—as well as a reliable rescue procedure during complications in phaco—it is beneficial for every cataract surgeon to be well-versed in MSICS. This course is designed for cataract surgeons who are either already proficient in phacoemulsification but not MSICS or novice MSICS surgeons who wish to fine-tune their skills and take them to the next level.
