Posterior Polar Cataract is one of the most difficult challenges for Cataract Surgeons because of the high likelihood of posterior capsular rupture and nucleus drop due to their propensity for Posterior Capsule dehiscence and weakness. Major advances in technology and refinement in the surgical techniques have led to a decrease in the incidence of PCR . Extraction of PPC should be done in a way that minimizes the risk of posterior segment complication and maximizes the benefit of capsular IOL fixation. FLACS promises to be another refinement in the surgical performance. Experts in this field will give pearls to avoid and to deal with surgical difficulties that can arise during phacoemulsification, so as to cause the least ocular morbidity and provide a satisfactory visual outcome for the patient. This course is designed to help Cataract Surgeons successfully meet the challenges associated with PPC.
