Abstract

"Diagnosis and management of glaucoma is not always straight forward. Under/Over diagnosis and Under/Over treatment is a major issue. Common dilemmas include; how much IOP reduction is necessary to prevent progression; which medicine will achieve the target and how to systematically reach maximum medical therapy. Also when the triad of IOP, disc changes and field defects are not aligned, the diagnostic accuracy falls. Myopia is a major confounder; both diagnosis and management could become challenging. Clinicians often come across pregnant/ breast feeding patients; patients with uveitis, corneal pathology etc. who needs special attention. This IC aims to address the challenges faced by comprehensive ophthalmologists in day today practice while managing a glaucoma patient and will aid them to approach confusing situations more confidently. Clinical case discussion would help the attendees to directly connect with the subject and enable them to adapt it to their practice."
