Abstract

Cataract Surgery has essentially become a refractive surgery also since the patient expects a complete recovery of vision an in his younger days. The Surgeon and the Councellors too promise him the same. This has created very high expectations and hence many unhappy patients too. This IC aims at addressing the reasons for the unhappiness of these patients. Ranging from pre operative, intraoperative, intraop, and post operative causes, this course aims at identifying, treating and preventing the reasons which cause discomfort to the patient. Residual cylindrical errors, imperfect centration if the IOL,DRY EYE, PCO, residual HOA, Dysphotopsias, retinal causes and other factors leading to discomfort will be discussed by a panel of well experienced experts in the field. The talks as well as the panel discussion is focused on making cataract surgery more rewarding to the surgeon and more fruitful and enjoyable to the patient
